Theuns Coetzee, a.k.a. Pokkel, was born in Nababeep, a small mining town in Namaqualand, on the 28th of May 1974, my western zodiac alignment is that of a first moon Gemini and my Chinese alignment is a Wood Tiger. I was raised in this carefree area that had no boundaries or concern for safety, other than tripping and grazing your knee of course. My favourite past-time in my younger growing years was definitely reading, providing an enrichment and understanding of the world unequal to any other.
Having loved reading, I developed a passion for writing poetry and creative essays in my latter teen years. This eventually moved on to crude sketching and painting which provided an escape and medium to express my creativity. April 4 1999, after an almost fatal motorcycle accident, I, unfortunately, was house bound for a couple of months. Not being free to move around, I spent my time playing around on the internet and this soon became my canvas. I started experimenting with graphic design and HTML coding, notepad style, and before you could blink your eyes I redeveloped my dad’s Safari Tours’ website. That was the start of a new path in my life.
I went through all the paces and eventually started coding and doing more advanced worked during my working and freelancing years. My forte today is working with Content Management Systems, specialising in Joomla and WordPress. I’m running a company, Internet Immense (currently undergoing a makeover) , providing this speciality as a service.
Other than my web development I have an unsurpassed passion for photography, whilst trying to avoid it, I occasionally do Pro work, allowing me to keep the passion alive.
